Two friends who were victimized and suspected of stealing, even though they were innocent.

Just before year 2007 ended, before Christmas break a tragedy came to me and to me friend, Dareen. Both of us were suspected as thieves- that we stole a phone from a friend of mine in her bag. At that time, Dareen and I were just having fun playing volleyball in the court while there at the other side of the court was a class going on which this certain friend of mine named, well lets just call her, Diosa was in. Eventually, after volleyball, Dareen and I sat on the first step of the stair case in between the stage and the women’s comfort room inside the covered court. On that row where we sat were lots of bag dumped or placed separately and not knowing that the last bag, quite near to us but not reachable is Diosa’s. Normally we sat on that row because it was where we also placed our things before we went inside the comfort room. Now after that, we went out of the school and rode on Dareen’s car heading towards the mall. Unknowingly, just right after few minutes of going out of the school, the class was busy searching on Diosa’s phone after she reported to her teacher that her phone got lost.

After a day, a friend of mine named Hannah told me about the things went on that day and she said that our names, my name and Dareen’s were reported to the security office and so right after heard it, I directly went to the security office to clear up my name and so as Dareen’s name. Almost all people of that class are my friends and they really know enough about me and so as their teacher knows who Dareen is, that is why our names were passed to the office.

After that week, the office interviewed us and so they filed all the details Dareen and I told them. Some of my friends really do not believe why I would do such a thing in front of many known people. Well in fact, Dareen and I are innocent. What we did was just to fight on our rights. But actually, we were not really accused of stealing her phone; it is just that we were the nearest suspect to investigate because we were on that row when the incident happened.

The worse is, some people of that class thinks we stole the phone and I do not want to think about that. In Diosa’s side, she is not pointing out that we are really the thieves, which in our part is much better.

The case is not yet closed. Dareen and I told our parents about this and they strongly believe in us. They will only support us if they will condemn that we really are the thieves- they will file a case against the people behind it. But I am sure that will not happen. And I know it will not get worse because God is with us. (Well, those are just IF) As of now in this New Year, I am happy and I thank God for giving me this king of problem which I know it is just a test for Him to measure how faithful I am, and how much I trust in Him.
