Not all partings are sad.

As you embark on your much-awaited journey, we bid you a happy and safe trip. Please take with you our love and our prayers that all will be well with you. May God be always at your side guiding and protecting you. May you instill in your mind all the words of wisdom that your father and mother had taught you

We are really very happy for you because at last you are about to start living your dream. Wasn’t it just two or three months ago when you went for training, and by the grace of God, you had withstand the difficulties and pass it with flying colors. So if ever you felt like weakening and giving up, think of all these.

If ever you see big waves, don’t be afraid. Just think that we are just waving our hands at you. And if ever there is a strong storm coming, just bow down and pray that God shield your ship and keep you all from any harm. And if by night time, you felt so sad and homesick, just go out in the ship’s deck and look up at the bright moon and stars and think that we are just on the other side looking at the same heavenly bodies too.

Remember that this will be your very first trip out there in a ship and will be floating and exploring the vast oceans. It’s only natural to feel a little uneasy at first, but soon, I am sure that you will get accustomed to it and will be enjoying and looking forward for more succeeding trips.

Bon Voyage and May God bless you always.

What a lovely farewell. Made my remember the times my husband went out to sea. I knew he was doing his job for our country and I was proud of him. Oh, but how I missed him.

A wonderful farewell with nothing less than words of comfort. Thanks for sharing.

Sweet, but tainted by the repeated references to ‘God’. What deluded sentiments eg ‘ May God always be at your side guiding and protecting you??”. Methinks you would benefit from reading Hitchens.
