The death of a family member coincides with a strange coincidence in which as an online student, I caught my professor committing an act of plagiarism while attempting to teach us not to plagiarize. I was bold enough to point the matter out to him and never received a response. The story is true. It should inspire readers to believe that our loved ones do watch over us after they pass on.
Mr. Javarinis and my fellow students,
If someone can truly explain how the factual narration I am about to share with you is possible, that individual may go on to win a Pulitzer, a Nobel, or at least a PsyD. from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
My girlfriend’s name is Stephanie. She is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and her business is incorporated under the name S.T.E.P.H. Inc.. Last week a close and beloved relative of hers died and both she and I were in the ICU when he died at the age of 47. His name was Richard Jesus.
I hope to be a Jungian analyst someday. I believe in Synchronicity. It happens. Synchronicity happens to me, and is as real to me, as gravity is to all of you. Case in point:
Tonight, April 18th, 2008, I told Steph that I lost 40 points on my Post from week 5 on Plagiarism, because when Richard died I did not return to the course site to reply to a fellow student’s post. I read this week’s topic to her and was ready to start writing, when she took it upon herself to Google, Logic vs. Emotion. Here is where the Synchronicity occurs: (Don’t lose me here).
Steph’s first Google link was to a blog written by a woman named Stephanie Corp, from Shelby Township, Michigan, back on Thursday, June 08, 2006. THE FIRST FOUR LINES OF STEPHANIE CORP’S POST WERE IDENTICAL TO THE QUESTION THAT MR. TOM JAVARINIS POSTED FOR US.
Okay, so what do we have here? First, Stephanie Corp from Shelby Township, Michigan, pretty much has the same name as my girlfriend’s corporation, (S.T.E.P.H. Incorporated). Considering the millions of blogs that go online every week, the fact that my girlfriend would get an exact “hit” on 4 sequential sentences out of Stephanie’s blog that were used “as an example” by our professor, in her one and only Google, would have the odd’s maker’s working out the calculations for days. A coincidence like this, when it is a non-causal event, the 2006 blog….to the professor….to my girlfriend…with the incredibly improbable name/corporate name match….that results in meaning to the experiencer is called a “SYNCHRONISTIC EVENT.”
Logically, this event, did not happen. But it did. It did tonight, and all of you can see it for yourselves here.
S.T.E.P.H Inc. is my girlfriend’s corporate name. She is Stephanie Ford, ARNP, Psychiatry.
You have the question itself right there in front of you. Is emotion stronger than logic? Is Synchronicity the principle that demonstrates the answer to those who are willing and ready to observe this self-evident fact?
This is the most well documented example of Carl Jung’s “Synchronicity” that I have ever experienced. Logically it is just a series of improbable facts that some of you out there would want to simply dismiss.
I encourage the “logical” ones to research this as much as they can and see that the “illogical” can and does happen.
The emotional impact that this has had on Stephanie and me is the most significant part of this experience. Richard Jesus was a man with an incredibly beautiful sense of humor. He was always telling jokes and always took great joy in making everyone laugh. Richard performed at comedy clubs in South Florida and had friends in the industry who went on to become famous comedians. Tonight, Richard said hello. Logically unfeasible. Emotionally desired. Steph and I have laughed about this knowing that from somewhere in the great beyond, Richard Jesus connected all the dots to make this happen. A Synchronicity is a signpost in your life that tells you everything is going to be okay….to use Jake’s expression: “LIFE IS GOOD.”
Go with the good feelings people; if they are truly good, the facts will reveal themselves clearly enough.
Good night Richard Jesus and thanks. We’ll see you around.
