Positive soda inn chapter four.
Dear mom-
Well, the band is finally picking up some more fans. We are getting to do more of the stuff we want to do. The other night, me and Keila got bored so we decided to hop the jet and head to Moscow to do a battle of the bands type show. We didn’t make it very far as people of Tokyo seem to expect perfection, but we did find a new drummer. He goes by the name of Slick, he is very quiet, but he can drum, and we think he will fit in with Cher, Monty, Bart, and the rest of us.
Me and Keila finally named our instruments, just like all the great musicians do, I named mine Lucielle and she named hers Kimber. We decided to save money and stop staying at fancy hotels, and crash at the fans house. We decided this would be fun after crashing at this guys apartment in Seattle, when our hotel double booked our rooms, we decided this gives the fans an opportunity to interact with us on a more personal level. And it gives them a chance to tell their grandchildren about how in their golden days of youth they played with and partied with the band Positive Soda Inn. We aren’t gaining much front line attention, but there is a whole underground scene of artists who seem to enjoy our music. Years from now, we will be written about in books and magazines as one of the most underrated and overlooked bands in history.
This life is wild and crazy and exciting. We meet new people everywhere we go, people who are inspired by our music and people who want to hang out and get to know us. The group of people that were kind enough to let us sleep on their couch in New Orleans took us on a swamp tour and showed us the sights. New Orleans is a good place to be as a musician; everyone wants to hear what you have to play.
I’m beginning to think that there might be something going on between Keila and Monty, but I’m OK with that as long as it doesn’t turn into a Yoko Ono thing. Cher said something about having to leave the tour earlier than we originally thought, so we are auditioning for some new vocalists. We will miss her, but in the music business people come and go all the time, its just something we get used to. Me or Keila might have to take over for a while on the vocals and Monty can play bass or guitar for us for a few shows. He occasionally sits in with us, as he is a talented musician also. He was in a death metal band in the late 80’s that went huge, he doesn’t play much any more though, he said he has left those days behind him now.
Well, that’s about it for now. Tell everyone I said hi and send my love.
