This is a creative letter I wrote, from the standpoint of the Boston Sons of Liberty during the Revolutionary War Period, right before the Boston Tea Party. They were writing to persuade people to join their cause.

Dear Editor,

The British taxation of our goods must come to a stop. They have oppressed us, and here is where it ends. Their Townshend Acts have violated our rights as British citizens, as have the Sugar Acts and Stamp Acts before. Britain views us as a product, a source of gold or money for them to acquire. If they cannot see that we are equal to their citizens in London, then we must show them. Without the income granted by the constant taxation of our goods…and of the taxes on our exports, then they will see that we will not succumb to their oppression. We must boycott British trade, refuse to allow their Companies and tax collectors to take the money we work twice as hard as their citizens in Great Britain to earn. If we wait to act, they will grow to believe they can control us, deny us the rights of any British citizen. We must show them the error of their ways. The taxation without representation, the violation of our rights, the seizures allowed by the Writs…it must all come to an end!
