Lenny’s at it again. His wife is standing by her man.

Dear Love

I am so worried about you.  I tried to call you and your cell phone has been disconnected.  I’ve sent you several emails and they have all come back as undeliverable.  I do hope that you are okay.  I am sending this letter to you by snail mail (that’s internet jargon for regular post office mail).

Lenny got out of the hospital and he was supposed to go to rehab to learn how to walk again after that last wreck.  You remember, I told you about it in my last email.  They kicked him out of rehab because they said he was drinking and it was against the rules.  Now, I know for a fact, that the only thing Lenny had was a couple of beers a day. Like that’s going to hurt somebody.

As you will recall, I told you in my last email that the judge suspended Lenny’s driver’s license.  Well, Lenny decided to drive to town on the lawn tractor because he was down to his last case of beer and he didn’t want to run out.  The cops stopped him for drunk driving. The judge impounded the lawn tractor; and, put Lenny in jail for thirty days.

I asked that judge what he thought he was doing taking the lawn mower away.  He said five hundred dollars to get the mower out of impound and five hundred dollars to get Lenny out of jail.  Then he charged me another five hundred dollars for contempt of court.  The bail bondsman only wanted twenty-five percent of the bail for Lenny so I was able to get him out of jail right away.

I had to have a garage sale and sell off some of my Elvis collection to raise the money for my contempt of court fine.  I’m going to have to have another garage sale next weekend. Hopefully, I’ll sell enough to raise the rest of the money due at the end of the month.  But, now I don’t know if it would be worth the effort.

Lenny took my truck and went to town yesterday.  I told him to stay out of town because the cops and that judge have it in for him. They are just waiting for him to show up.  But, you know Lenny, sometimes he can be stubborn, and refuse to listen to reason.  The cops arrested him again for drunk driving. The judge revoked his bond and gave him another sixty days.  Not only that, he impounded my truck.  That’s another five hundred dollars.  I asked the judge how was I supposed to get to work without my truck.  He said that was my problem and raised my contempt of court to one thousand dollars.

The bail bondsman is demanding the rest of the five hundred that we owe.

It just makes me sick.  Lenny and I are good honest people.  We don’t try to hurt anybody.  But, the cops and the judge have it in for us. They are trying to make it seem like we are criminals.

How are you getting along?  I hope you and the family are doing okay.  Do you still have that good job?  I was wondering if we could borrow about twenty five hundred dollars to pay Lenny’s bail and my contempt of court fine?  We also need to get the truck and lawn tractor out of impound.  We can make payments, with interest, of course, just as soon as Lenny can find a job.

I do hope that you are well and everything is okay.  Please write to me and give me your new email address and phone number.  I really miss you.
