To Whom This May Concern:

Global warming is a national crisis and we should do something now. Air pollution is one of the main causes of global warming. The United States burns the largest amount of fossil fuels in the world! Did you know that factories produce 60% of the smoke that destroys the ozone layer? With out the ozone layer, there is no protection from the sun’s rays and the temperature of the earth’s surface.

Did you know that some artic plants reflect extra heat from the sun? We have lost 20% of the polar ice caps since the year 1963! This will cause major coastal flooding. If we don’t do something soon to help prevent or slow down global warming the world will become one giant ocean! Global warming should be stopped now before it is too late.

There are many harmful effects to our economy if we let global warming continue. The oceans’ waters will become warmer causing the coral to die and make fish more vulnerable to disease. The increase in temperature could kill many of the farmers’ crops causing a major drop in food production. Changes in the weather will occur causing more hurricanes and droughts. The temperature increase will spread diseases like malaria to large countries, killing many people. Global Warming could and should be stopped now for everyone’s sake!
