What the heart wants to say is revealed in a love letter.

As Alice was arranging old files in the cabinet, she came up with a bundle of printed matters. Included in these were old letters from friends, classmates, and relatives. But one which captured her attention was a love letter from husband Jim — which was inadvertently mixed up among a bundle of letters.

She took hold of it and read the inscription on the envelope: To Mama, my wife and my love. She said to herself Jim has not changed in his way  of writing — he is still very much himself when he was courting her . A love letter from him — the way it is exquisitely written — could probably make a woman fall in love with him. One thing she likes  in him, ever since they were sweethearts, is the way he prepares and writes a love letter – a beautifully designed envelope with a letter inside which speaks of the language of the heart.

Writing and folding a love letter requires skill on the part of a man. Jim folds his love letter so uniquely charming. It is designed like a butterfly which spreads its wings when one opens it to read it. Every man perhaps has his own way of writing a love letter. She knows Jim stands outstanding in this respect.

The love letter reads:

3 April 1996

Mama:

Today is your birthday. I have nothing to offer except sincere expressions of love. Happy birthday my wife, I love you so much.

It has been almost 8 years now that we have been married. Bereft perhaps of the grandeur that material wealth could offer, our marriage could be one among the best because we have shared together the sweetest love of all. We have had petty quarrels — but really petty ones — which brought happy moments afterwards.

You and my son, and our future children, are the only riches I could have; yet I could be the happiest man in the world because you are always beside me.

Always remember I love you so much — and nothing on earth could surpass it. No words could be enough to say how much I truly care. If I would die my spirit would always be back to keep watch over you, my son, and our home.

Again, happy birthday sweetheart!

Love,

Papa

Then, she smiled. She got back to the room and kept the love letter among her souvenirs.
