How much I loved Beckham.
Dear Mr. Beckham,
I write to you today because I want to share my views on how you play football and your concept of being a star, how to be a better footballer, and how to be a better role-model. I may not be your manager, a celebrity, footballer, not even an adult. I’m a 14 year old kid trying to do my part in this world and to change how we do everything in this era.
To start with, you are known as the best free-kicker in the world. Why then did Coach Steve Mclaren fire you from the England squad? He replaced you with players who were swift although they aren’t able to do your famous free-kick curl. A few years ago you were the best player on Earth. Now people call you an ass and stuff like that. Not me. Heck, you’re my idol. I hate to see you being tormented by all these people.
Paparazzi troubling you? I guess so. That’s a disadvantage of being so famous. I got an idea to make it an advantage though, you can try it. Instead of thinking of the paparazzi as annoying and irritating, why don’t you pass on a good message through paparazzi? Become ambassador for UNICEF. Loads of things you can do so that you can be looked up upon as a person you can turn to when you need help. You could be a beacon of hope in a world full of darkness. Build schools, hospitals, help build shelter for the poor etc. You probably make more cash in a week than most of us make in a year, so use it for the better of humanity. Some day I bet you’ll be knighted for services for humanity rather than for services to football(as for Sir Alex Ferguson).
People say it is the end of an era. An era where David Beckham could score easily from the half-line.
I don’t believe them. I believe in you, so you should believe in yourself.
Good Luck!
