On this piece of sentiment, the consequences arise as everybody did not expected. And, I reflected on the following Bible verses.
It says, “I hate, I despise your religious feasts; I cannot stand your assemblies. Even though you bring me burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them.Though you bring choice fellowship offerings, I will have no regard for them. Away with the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps. But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!” I found that verse from Amos 5:21-24 (New International Version). I reflected that verse in the morning before I go to work. Then, I remembered an old friend who wrote an article who move the hearts of youth in Chinese community here in the Philippines. The article is An Open Letter to Batch 1997-1998 of Philippine Cultural High School Main. This fellow had experienced lots of trials in life. He had gone in a lot of traumas until something happened that he never forgets. He was threatened. Then, we had lost in touch of communication. He wanted to move on and to have a better life. Everybody deserves a chance to be happy if he or she chose to be happy. It is a choice.
With this kind of sentiment, there are lots of conclusions from the readers. Some of them think that this fellow has an personality disorder or psychological disorder. But, I still believe that he is just a human who was hurt once and cannot move on because of his wounded heart. But, I believe that all of us have a choice whether to compromise or to stand firm for his or her own conviction.
I missed this fellow. I know he was hurt. That is why I allowed him to express himself. But, he was not given an opportunity to be heard. May be not all the people have the same values or opinions, but at least there are few people who have compassion for this fellow. It is not easy to accept the defeat and to swallow your own ego just to move on and to choose to be happy and to have a better life. Some people were insecured or putting down other people’s enthusiasm because they do not want others to be happy or do not want their wounds to be healed.
