Remembering where we came from holds the key to what we become in the future. Take some time out and go back with us to remember some of our favorite memories.

Dear Lily,

Yes,  I think I like that name the best.  You will hold all my thoughts and dreams so that I may one day come back to you and remember.  Kinda like eating a Milky Way and letting it “carry you away” from all the stress and confusion in your life.  Even if it is only for a little while.  You will be my “get-away” and hopefully you will help others remember as well.

So, let’s go back in time.  Back to when we were kids and life was simpler.  All we had to worry about was going to school, playing with our friends, making sure our socks matched, and becoming involved in sports.

In our spare time we would hide out in the backyard under the old Maple tree and dream.  Dream about becoming astronauts, pilots, ballerinas, and even doctors or nurses.  Even as young girls we loved to go to the local mall with our friends, while the boys were content to play football at the park or on the road by their houses.  Oh yes, can’t forget about all the bike rides we would take just to be doing something.  It seemed we never wanted to be sitting down doing nothing for too long.  Sitting was never FUN!  One of my favorites and I’m sure it was yours too was going swimming for hours and hours during the summer, and what about playing putt-putt or spending time at the batting cages.

Oh, and remember we couldn’t wait until “summer vacation, and taking trips to the beach, or if you’re lucky going to Disney World!  Oh Lily, why can’t life be simple again?  It seems that we never have time anymore to just stop and “smell the Roses”.  Memories like these are too precious to forget.  Our past is what shapes our future and what type of person we will be come.

Question:  Why are we so afraid to stop what we’re doing just for a minute and remember where we came from?
