Letters Rosy C. Ellene Bartlett is a story of intrigue, kidnapping and the mysteries of the past. The story unfolds through letters between two friends that aging does not want to take their secrets to the grave.

Rene Dubois, who now lives in Germany and Roselee Payton residing in America were teenage friends in their fifties and sixties Bart City, Georgia. They each harbor dark secrets of the past and decides to unload a series of letters to another. Rene wrote to Rosy and said about Ken Mitchell, whose daughter, Sasha, has disappeared. His wife, Marsha, was consumed with grief and died in a hospital. A year passed, and Ken took a cruise and met a woman named Bridget that he was interested in. He also met a man whose daughter was like Sasha except his lack of hair color. Rosy wrote back. It tells the story of Mendy Renee Arnold, who was abducted with her six year old daughter, Misty. The child was forced to watch his mother being raped. Meanwhile her husband, Trevor, had an affair with a woman he met in the morning. Both women are eager to hear tales of how to enter and look forward to the letters.

Rene and Rosie is a compelling story to tell, even if the situations are sometimes unlikely. The plot has too many restrictions on minor characters and it is often difficult to stay focused. Adding to the confusion is the head-hopping – Changing the point of view often. I pulled out the characters thoughts and feelings, before I had the opportunity to connect with them. The characters never came alive for me and the story of each character has slowed down. List of characters includes the beginning of the book and helped me keep everyone straight. While the technical deficiencies, I read to the end, eager to see Bartlett tied it all together. It ‘was a final I did not see coming. Factor here is certainly a promising first novel, and I would be interested in seeing his future works.
