A letter of complaint I wrote to my resident assistance when he swore at me.
Dear Ms. J. Brady:
In a recent incident in the McGinnies Hall lobby at approximately 11:30pm on Monday November 5, 2007, I encountered hostility from one of your Resident Assistants. I was signing in my guest and laughing about a joke with the desk attendant (RA) Marcelle for no longer than a minute or two when Mr. M. Jones approached us from the movie that was playing. When he got near the steps he started talking to us as we were heading up to our room. He yelled:
“Shut up, and I’m serious”
Then proceeded to return to his movie. He clearly had anger in his tone so I could not take this incident as a joke. This is also not the first occasion where he has been rude or inconsiderate to me and my hall mates. The other instances I was able to brush off but this seemed very uncharacteristic of a Resident Assistant.
I just feel that the unprofessionalism of an individual who should be setting an example to his residents should not go overlooked. I am most concerned because I have to live down the hall from him and he is my RA and I do not want to have to worry about him targeting me and being rude all the time. He was not just rude to me but my guests were.
Below is the contact information of the other witnesses. If we can assist you in any way feel free to contact any of us at any time. Thanks you for your time in resolving this issue.
Sincerely,
