You are my reason for living.

My precious child I extend my hand to you. I love you so much that I don’t know what to do. The beauty that you display comes from within. How many years have passed since you been my special friend? When I speak about you my heart skips a beat. I can reflect back to the moment that you took me from the streets. Life to me would be strange if I couldn’t  see your smiling face. No one in this world could ever take your special place. You and I are united in this world my special friend. Tamara do you know that you being born is when I knew that I could win. A father and daughter that share the bond that we share, couldn’t be found just about anywhere. If I said I love you a million times it does no justice to how much that I care. You are my angel because your the spark that sets me off. No one would understand that without you, how my life would be lost.

Silver and gold are nothing without you close by my side. I can only think off three people that makes me feel so alive. One is my mother, and one is my wife but you are the one who turns on my light. It seems like just yesterday that I brought you, your very first bike. It’s hard to believe that in a week that you will be sweet sixteen. We will go every where from this day on because this is what we need. I cherish every picture you took, especially the one when you took your first step. Our connection is for real and now I can understand how the Bible says that Jesus wept. There are things that happen in our lives that we can’t understand. The love that we have in this world is in high demand. One will understand this when they become Born Again. If you have ever saw my daughter than you can understand why she is my special friend.

Mervin, this is awesome – has she read it? If not, you need to share it with her. My son is trying to fix his past mistakes to be the father he wants to be. He has come to the same realization you did in regards to his daughter.

I saw the Name Tamara and just had to look, for that is my real name. As I read I realized it is about your daughter. It is a very touching tribute to her. I have to agree that it is our children that makes us all want to live. They give us this incredible strength to be our best that we can possible be. They are the real reason for living.

This is a very sweet poem. It takes a very special dad to sit down and make the time to write a dear poem such as this. This should be treasured always. Great work.
