I did not have time to tell you before I left, but I needed to go straight away. I hope you are not too stressed about my absence and I apologize for my actions. The reason I left home is that I am tired of being pushed around and I need to know more about my father, Odysseus, so I decided to leave. Also, if the suitors knew about our departure, they would have surely harmed you. Anyways, I have rented a ship from one of the suitors and have taken a crew of 20 of the city’s best men, I don’t know when I plan to be back, but it probably will be about one month from when I left home. I have gone to sandy Pylos to visit King Nestor and I am currently in Sparta, under the hospitality of King Menelaos.
