My cousin didn’t believe I could write a song, so I sat down and wrote this and then she and I tried to sing it. Wish someone had recorded that. We actually made up a tune, that is now forgotten. I was 14 and she was 12 then.

A Daisy in Your Hair
1975

A daisy in your hair
It’s springtime in the air
Sparkles in your eyes
It’s clear in the skies

Your smile makes them dimples show
And you hand in mine makes me glow
What am I doing for you
I don’t want to make you feel blue

I squeeze your hand
And you squeeze my hand
And you move a little closer
Our feelings are closer

I see just you
Do you see just me
I hope you do
This is what I plea

A thought for all your care
I feel love in the air
Something in your sighs
Makes it clear my eyes

Your smile makes them dimple show
And your hand in mine makes me glow
So I move closer to you
And I take away feelings blue

I see just you
Do you see just me
I hope you do
This is what I plea

A daisy in your hair
It’s springtime in the air
Sparkles in your eyes
It’s clear in the skies

I look at you
And I feel so bliss
Your eyes seem so bigger they do
And you I shall now kiss

It was such a beautiful and catchy song, Milton. I loved the verse and the lightness to it. I see poetry is not your only talent.
