My oldest daughter shares my middle name and so do all her daughters. Ashley is the oldest of my granddaughters. Beautiful and talented as you will see here.

Yesterday my oldest granddaughter, Ashley (shown above at the piano), sat down and wrote a song while she was at our house. Ashley is twelve. She asked then if she could use my laptop to type it up. My latest poem was on the screen when she sat down to type and after reading it she began typing herself. But instead of typing the words to her song she typed a poem instead. Ashley loves many things, music, drama, gymnastics, writing… but most of all Jesus and other people. Thought I’d share her inspirations of yesterday with you.

Listen

You’ve got to listen. You’ve got to hear it, the song’s singing loud.

You’ve got to listen. His voice can be a quiet sound.

If you hear the Word of God, if He’s trying to talk to you,

if you hear them shouting out His praise, maybe you should be shouting too.

You’ve got to listen… to the angels singing loud and proud.

You got to listen. For His voice is quiet in a loud and busy world.

He’s talking to you, talking to me.

His voice willbe louder if you pray and seek.

He wants to hold you close in Heaven, so if He’s talking to you…

Just listen.  Then you’ll see.

(That was the song.  Here is the poem.)

The Holy Ghost

Our  world’s joys are wonderful things,
Presents, toys, diamond rings,
What should catch our eye the most
Than the enchanting Holy Ghost?
A blindness to the human eye
Yet He has magic you can’t deny,
Making miracles, healing our hearts.
We die and we wake up again
But this time with a cleaner heart.
We walk along streets of gold
And fly with angels among our King.

Can you tell I’m a pretty proud grandma?

Just realized that the last line of the poem is missing.

“the Holy Ghost in human skin.”

I’ll have to submit a fix, and you all know how long that takes.
