A description about Mole Day, and the lyrics to the Happy Mole Day song.

You ever heard of mole day? Probably not. Maybe if you’ve taken Chemistry.

I remember my first day walking into Chemistry Honors. There was a mole decorated with little pictures of moles on the front postboard. Moles hanging around the room. A huge stuffed mole on a cabinent. I thought my teacher was crazy.

Well Mole Day is actually a holiday celebrated between 6:02 AM and 6.02 PM on October 23rd, usually in North America. It’s for the 6.02×1023 number of atoms in a mole.

To help you get into the Mole Day spirit, there’s a commonly known song among teachers and students.

Lyrics:

Happy Mole Day to you,
Happy Mole Day to you,
Happy Mole Day dear students,
Happy Mole Day to you!

How many atoms are you?
Cha cha cha!
Thats six point oh two.
Cha cha cha!
Times ten to the twenty third.
Happy Mole Day to you!

How many moles of hydrogen
Are found in water?
Just use the subscript
The number is two.

What is mole to mole?
It coefficient ratio
Between any two formulas
In a balanced equation.

What is molar mass
For a formula?
Add an atoms’ atomic masses,
In grams per one mole.

How much gas in one mole?
An STP!
That’s twenty-two point four.
An STP!
Twenty-two point four liters.
Happy Mole Day to you!

Happy Mole Day to you!

Hope you enjoyed, and learned more about Mole Day!
