Poking fun at myself.
I’m a internet star
I don’t worry bout crowds at the local Wal-Mart
I don’t have an agent, a bus or a band
But I’m sending out my records over broadband
A friend he built me a cool web site
And I’m logged on just about every night
Who would have thought I would make it this far
I’m right on the verge of being an internet star
Some girl she text me from Baltimore
Wanting to join my fan club and a whole lot more
Asking if I played out east
If I could get her front row seats
Some guy said he would feature me
In a column he writes on the web each week
Seems like I’m off to a roaring start
I’m right on the verge of being an internet star
It don’t have the glamour of rock-n-roll
But things are changing fast you know
When your connected to the world wide web
There’s streaming, pay pal and tons of downloads
Sometimes it’s as hectic as being on the road
It’s hard to keep all this from going to my head
You can hear the first minute of my newest song for free
You can download ring tones or purchase CDs
Read all about me on my profile page
Even see how many hits I’m getting each day
You can leave your comments either good or bad
I can handle the criticism I always have
But maybe you will see this as a piece of art
I’m right on the verge of being a internet star
It don’t have the glamour of rock-n-roll
But things are changing fast you know
When your connected to the world wide web
There’s streaming, pay pal and tons of downloads
Sometimes it’s as hectic as being on the road
It’s hard to keep all this from going to my head
You can leave your comments either good or bad
I can handle the criticism I always have
But maybe you will see this as another piece of art
I’m right on the verge of being a internet star
