The lyrics of this song say alot.

The sign says long-haired, freaky people need not apply

So I tucked my hair up under my hat and I went in to ask him why?

He said you look like a fine, outstanding young man, I think you’ll do

So I took off my hat and said imagine that, me working for you!

Tesla released this re-make in 1990.  It was originally released by Five Man Electrical Band in 1971.  If you would take a few minutes to listen to the words you will realize it is all about exclusion.  Whether the reason is looks, lifestyle or financial standing.

Too ofter we discriminate based solely on outward appearance.  We are expected to conform to a certain standard of “normality” and if we don’t then we are outcast.

Why does this happen regularly?  My guess is that it is because others are insecure with themselves and question their own standing in life.

No one has any right or reason to judge someone just because they are different, whether it is a physical handicap that they have no control over or something they choose to do.  How boring would this world be if we were all carbon copies walking a straight line?

Some people just cannot accept individuality.

    My Dear,

I’m long haired too, as you can see. And I’m definitely freaky.

    Have a nice day!
