Inspired by a difficult life choice and sacrifice of a husband working away from his family in order to support them.

She gets herself ready;
Three kids off to school
She takes time to pray
She’s not being fooled.

She’s mom and dad
All week long
The love of her husband
Keeps her going strong

It’s been a long road
To get where they are
Mistakes from their past
Haven’t pushed them apart

He endures the separation;
Looks forward to the weekends
He takes time to pray
Pressures of life will rescind

He feels he lets them down
All week long
The love of his family
Keeps him pressing on

It’s been a long road
To get where they are
Mistakes from their past
Haven’t pushed them apart
No mistakes from their past
Haven’t pushed them apart

    separation is a very difficult pill to swallow, but sometimes it makes us what we are – allowing us to be more loving and compassionate.
