This is a song that I wrote that is part of a music rock opera called Mr. Tattooman that comprises of four parts. The acoustic version of this song is part of The Iraqi War Memorial website at http://www.iraqimemorial.org. The electric version can be heard on http://www.soundclick.com/krishnaswamy.
The song discusses the tension that has been created in our human history between nature and humanity. Our human plans aim at conquering and destroying nature as wars, global warming, and various forms of human development seem to repeat the same patterns in an effort to eliminate nature and each other. The song was copyrighted in the US in 2005.

Mr. Tattooman Part 2-Over and Over

VERSE 1

like birds we build our dams

everywhere we can

at everyones expense

over and over again

like rams we butt our heads

into another war

leading another life

over and over again

like gamblers we play our hands

trying to beat the odds

playing another hand

over and over again

if it not one ism it’s another

we have to knock it down

using the same old plan

over and over again

CHORUS

isn’t it time

we find a better way

to live together

in a more humane way

we sent a man to the moon

can’t we feed him soon

playing the same game

over and over again

better to give

than to take

in dire straits

let’s make the world

a more safer place

wars are never won

only fought

for money and greed

and different thoughts

VERSE 2

like children we act so innocent

but we’re not

playing our cunning games

over and over again

like thieves we cheat and steal

everything we can

here and from there

and from everywhere

like a man who makes his pipes

let’s carve a new one

so we can lead peaceful lives

til the sun burns out

CHORUS

THE END
