A supernova is best described as the death of a star. It occurs in an explosive blast that releases just as much-if not more-energy than the star did in it’s entire lifespan. Star’s(like our sun) could live for an average of a few billion years, a supernova occurs in an instant that spans mere weeks and months. That said, I’d let you decide the true power of a supernova.
The star, the star,
a wonder that might forever remain an enigma.
Out of nothing emerges a light,
expending so much radiance,
that it’s twinkle
can be seen from lands of incalculable distances
and yet, its consistency in its lifetime,
is unrivaled throughout the Universe.
Most mysterious of this phenomenal,
is the magnificence of its death.
For even at its final moment,
it glows far more brightly than the sun,
it gives out more energy,
more life
than it would have ever given,
in the whole of its great life-span.
Unequalled we thought the star was.
But amidst a meekest of race,
a most uncivilized of biological specie,
came forth a human-star
that shone as resplendently as the Northern star,
and produced a supernova,
as never before witnessed
this star’s name was
Karol Wojtyla (Pope John Paul II).
