This is a follow-up to one of my previous songs that I didn’t like very much but served as a great foundation story; in it a man sees one of his supposedly happily married friends molesting a younger boy and sees someone else shoot his friend (who was molesting the boy) and run away – he stays frozen to the scene of the crime and is sent to the electric chair because he would have liked to believe that had someone not shot first he would’ve done the same. He’s shocked but fails to die so they finally have to poison him through injection.
They’re waiting
To take me
Away
My eyes show
No mercy
Today
My heart
Won’t beat
This way
As I wreck my future
My sutured wounds
Split apart
And these vampires
Pretend not to see
A heart
A heart
As they strap me to the chair
Grinning and saying it’s only fair
None of them know or can compare
Violent deaths, just dead stares
Those bastards are going to cover their eyes
As soon as they realize
This was wrong
This was wrong
I’ll walk as silently as I know I’ll be.
Well hats off to the courts
To the lawyers of a different sort
The ones that preen and play
As the only way to get their pay
Do win and loss records have more to say
Than an innocent man
Not given a chance
To escape
To escape
As the needles tear through my skin
I can only wonder what I did
To deserve this
And I can only hope
As my bodys limp
Evil men will see
Evil done to innocence
And not catch the guilty man
I saw what he did
A hate crime based on principle
I hope that that criminals
burning in hell
