Chris Alan joins the rescue mission for Babuk.

Chris Alan Starbright was dreaming, and he knew it. It was a strange feeling to be dreaming and actually be aware of it – but this was one sign of a vision given by the Lord of the Realms.

He was watching a cliff, and a violent storm was beating against that cliff; the sky was black, and lightning shot at random in it. He could tell that the walk from the plain to the cliff’s edge was covered in grass, but the black sky made it hard to see the green of the grass. The black sea was also lashing the cliff, but the cliff remained unmoved.

Then Chris Alan looked to the plain and saw a creature striding majestically on all fours towards the cliff’s edge. He could not really make out what it was, save that it had a lot of hair around its neck. The animal, unshaken by the storm, kept striding forward until it came to the edge of the cliff. In a flash of lightning, a golden male lion was revealed, standing courageously against the elements. There was no pride in its face, just a look of strength and kindness; his golden, flaming eyes made Chris feel like crying with joy. The lion turned to face the stormy sky, and it opened its magnificent jaws and let out a roar as loud as many thunders. The storm moved away and the seas calmed.

With that, Chris Alan awoke.

The Starbard rolled off his bed, looked over his left shoulder, and saw his new wife Autumn still lying peacefully asleep. The young couple had just returned from their honeymoon, which fact wasn’t making what Chris Alan’s intuitive feelings were telling him any easier to bear. Their lovely guest suite was in a hotel in Geopolis, by far the largest city on Ge and in the Covenant Sphere. It was an early summer morning at their latitude; Helios, Ge’s parent star, had not yet risen.

Chris Alan walked to the adjoining room where Rafael Goldwing, Chris Alan’s Guardian, and Amber Bdellium, Autumn’s Guardian, were resting. He waved for Rafael to follow, and in Rest Mode the Guardian followed the Lightchild out to the balcony. Rafael provided light clothing from his *n* dimensional closet.

I’ve been waiting and waiting and waiting for what seems like an age of the world for this installment…and I’m really pleased by what you’ve put in here. There are lots of possibilities for character development, interaction, even strife. Chris Alan the Protector — counselor by nature though he is — will have an interesting time guiding this crew.

You need not change what I’m about to mention, as obviously you’re dealing in a different timeline than mine (and the nature of T.I.M. allows for that). But in my present “canonical” timeline Autumn is an Enoshi, not an Adami (nor a Lightchild), and has no Guardian. However, in my original conception Autumn was a Lightchild with a Guardian named Amber Bdellium. Should you need to mention Autumn’s Guardian, you may use that name (”Amber” for short or “Amber Bdellium” in full).

I think I will send you some notes on the Heart of the Sphere so you know who would meet where and why.
