Light of the Eternal.

Epithet was the word Autumn had used to describe Crystal’s name Rokeach or “Chemist”, but for Alex “Missing Vowels” was truly a nickname. He had an epithet also, but chose not to tell it: Or Yehawweh, “Light of the Eternal”. If ever there was a need for this boy of mystery to unleash his full power, then the Name would appear on his golden band in white light. This would mean trouble for any enemy – as if the White Hand weren’t bad enough. Alex hoped there would be no need. Such a display brought unwanted attention, which he hated. He had studied the life of the Undying Singer and had learned that a lot of eyes were on him. Must be uncomfortable, Alex told himself.
In fact Chris Alan (an ENFP Inspirer) was something that Alex (an INTP Thinker) was not: a Primarily Extraverted Catalyst. Chris Alan sometimes resented publicity because of his personal and universal values, which were rooted in Introverted Feeling; but these values supported his Extraverted Intuiting, which loved and thrived in the spotlight. It was not the existence or the degree, but the kindof attention that made Chris Alan uncomfortable. As Grandmaster Toa had foreseen millennia before his birth, people tended either to worship him or to damn him before he was worthy of either. His apotheosis as the all-powerful Heir of the Hooded Man was still a very long time in the future.
Alex, by contrast, was a Primarily Introverted Theorist. His Extraverted Intuiting supported his Introverted Thinking; and these with the rest of his cognitive processes gave him a considerable emotional detachment from other people. Alex and Chris Alan could thus reach each other’s minds as perceptual “Tribesmen”; but Alex preferred to work “behind the scenes”, leaving people like Chris Alan to “get things going” and then delegate to others the details of a project.
Inspirers were often symbolized as a group by the nautilus shell. Thinkers were often symbolized as a group by a keyboard or touchpad. That symbolism described in a nutshell the considerable differences – and the subtle similarities – that the two personality types had.
All this passed through Autumn’s mind shortly after she reached her final destination. Then, there were other things to think about.
