Descent into Shadow.

“When we wish to hide from light, we become the darkness…” – Grand Master Toa

**********

Not long after the Song Contest Finals, Toa visited Aaron Owen Starbright, the keeper of Western Blademastery. If Toa was considered the supreme Master of the East, surely Aaron was considered the supreme Master of the West. Aaron’s understanding of dreams and prophecies was legendary – and he was a Grand Master in psychological warfare. In the wider view, of course, Toa was recognized as Grand Master of all branches of the tree of Blademastery, yet even he saw it needful to place Grand Masters over each particular branch of the tree.

“Is that you outside my residence, Master Toa?” The sweet, balanced voice came from inside the well- decorated home of the Lightchild.

“Your intuition is still as sharp as ever, old friend.” Toa noticed the white marblefrom which the house was mostly build, especially the seven columns which held up the walls and roof. “Very spacious,” Toa commented.

Clutter drives me mad; if the wife is mad then I get no rest.” Aaron laughed.

“Cleanliness Without Measure at Need?” Toa laughed also.

“What brings you here, old friend?” Aaron put on a pot of tea, knowing how much his Eastern visitor loved tea.

“Sorry to say, a nightmare: one I have been having off and on.” Toa explained as Aaron pointed to a soft chairhe could sit in. It was light blue and soft. Abram floated down also. “Your Guardian, Elijah Goldstar: where is he?”

“In his cradle. I thought I’d get some real alone time.”

“Did I disturb you?”

“No, you are always welcome: an exception for an old friend.”

“Have you had any dreams?” Toa quizzed.

“Only one – and it is rather confusing,” Aaron admitted.

Interesting little chapter. I hope my feedback doesn’t prove too ponderous for you or the reader, but there’s a fundamental misconception about how my fictional universe works that has to be made crystal-clear. In effect, Chris Alan is beta-testing a sort of cosmic RPG, and several others — including the SOGIP behind Edwin himself — are now role-playing with him. We’ve already established that in THE TEMPLE OF PAIN.

Thank you for all this effort. It’s fun to have someone able and willing to do this (not to overlook good for my writer’s ego!).
