The blinding darkness of the soulless night was illuminated by a small powerful beam of light.
The light originated from the palm of an old balding man. Though he was old, his stride was full of purpose and strength beyond the bonds of normal men. His eyes had the fiery look of seeing men beat down in front of him, yet at the same time there was a soft, kind look full of care and love.
A rustle in a nearby brush startled him, and with a quick motion, he closed his palms and extinguished the heavenly light. The bright eyes of a raccoon glowed in the dim moonlight. With a sigh he rubbed his palms together, and with a burst of white light, the beam returned to its startled host. He continued walking until he appeared at the door of a small hut. He closed his palm, extinguishing the light, and rested the tips of his fingers on the door. With a flash of light, the door changed form, and melted into a metallic brown puddle which evaporated instantly.
