Before the show starts, Tyra mentions ANTM has been through many recent changes, promising her audience that ANTM has become more “real,” especially in the way that the modeling industry and fashion models will be portrayed.

The girls arrive in LAX, and they start right away, working it on the airport runway to show Miss J and Jay Manual their catwalk. After the girls are divided into two groups, one group is sent to a room with their luggage, thinking that they didn’t make it. But Tyra shows up and takes them to their new penthouse suite. Kasia, Monique, Sara, Dominique, Ondrei, Alexandria, Hannah, Jaclyn, Dalya, Angelia, Nicole, Brittani, Mikaela, and Molly are all excited they made it on the show as they check out the penthouse.

Brittani mentions that she lives in a trailer park. So, living temporarily in this beautiful house is like a dream for her. Three girls are seen wearing Mardi Gras masks. Clashes and fights have already started as each girl makes it clear that the others shouldn’t get in her way.

Tyra Mail announces “…get the ball rolling.” The girls wonder what that means as they try to guess.

Next morning, the bus drops them off at a Malibu mansion, where Jay Manual is standing by a fashion model, Erin Wasson. Jay describes their runway challenge, which involves walking on a twelve-inch-wide runway, located over a swimming pool that is filled with water. But they will be inside a huge and transparent round bubble as the walk on this narrow ramp. But before they perform this complicated runway challenge, they go backstage to pose in a photo shoot. They meet the photographer, Russell James.

After the backstage photo shoot, the girls take turns walking on the narrow runway. Ondrei falls in the water. Dominique also falls. When they all finish, Erin gives each girl a jewelry gift from her jewelry design business.

Back in the house, they read the Tyra Mail, announcing that they will meet the judges tomorrow.

In the judging room, Nigel Barker, Andre Leon Talle, and Erin Wasson are seated on the panel. After Tyra introduces the judges, they check out and critique each girl’s photograph from the photo shoot. Then, the girls leave so that the judges can decide who to eliminate. They discuss each girl and her photograph. I personally think they all are scary-looking. But maybe the  makeover will improve their look because they all desperately need a makeover. Tyra calls Molly’s name first because she had the best photograph and her picture will be displayed in the house. Then, Britanni, Alexandria, Mikaela, Dalya, Hannah, Ondrei, Monique, Nicole, Kasia,  Jaclyn, and Sara. Dominique and Angelia are in the bottom two, and Tyra eliminates Angelia.
