Benjamin Twist lands in Africa in part two of the children’s adventure.
Benjamin Twist’s African adventure Part Two.
Tom knew Ben was serious, Tom thought hard until his head hurt then said,
“Ok Ben I will go with you to Africa just the two of us, I have a little money I will lend it to you for the Aeroplane flight to Africa. By the way how will we get around in Africa?”
Ben was alive with adventure he stood up and said,
“By bike Tom, by bike! I have my trusty delivery bike with a basket on the front for sweets and clothes and I know you have a bike we used to go riding for miles in the summer”
Tom nodded and he felt better if they went together, Tom had heard there were Lions and Tigers and Crocodiles! In Africa even man eating tribes! Tom cycled back to the sweet shop and began packing his back pack. He took spare trousers and shirt and a new toothbrush. Most importantly Ben packed his father’s secret map of Africa including where the magic sugar was made. The tribe that made it was called the “Ungassy warriors” Ben packed the only picture of his father to show the tribe and hopefully barter for some sugar.
The airport was a busy place Ben stood at the departures of London’s Heath-row Airport and wondered at the thousands of people coming and going, who knows where they were all travelling to? Tom and Ben paid the lady at the check in desk extra to take their bikes and boxes of sweets in the cargo hold of the aeroplane.
The huge white Jumbo jet screamed down the runway and Ben hung on for dear life he was scared as he had never flown before. The jumbo levelled off over the sea, Ben could see white clouds as big as houses floating past the windows. Down below the sea was almost Emerald green topped with white seahorses that disappeared when the waves broke upon the shore.

Tom being the type of man he was had fallen asleep after 10 minutes into the long flight. The pretty air stewardess brought around a small meal that tasted of plastic, Ben was not impressed. Ben gave the stewardess some of his finest Rhubarb and custard boiled sweets, the stewardess was very grateful and gave Ben some extra pudding in exchange.
