Paige and Gemma’s lives are put at risk because of Gemma’s robber boyfriend.

“Paige do you have everything?” Melanie Paige’s mum asked. Paige picked up her pencil case and put it in her rucksack. “Sure mum I do.” Paige picked up her rucksack and put it on the table. She then went to the cupboard and got out a packet of cornflakes and then a bowl. She poured some hot milk in the bowl, some cereal and then two teaspoons of sugar. She sat on a chair eating her cereal and watching her mother pack her lunch. She finished eating her cereal and got up. She picked up her rucksack and her lunchbox and waved goodbye to her mother. Paige walked through the corridors of her house and threw open the front door. She walked down to the end of her street where there were chairs for people who wanted to rest a bit to sit. Paige dropped her rucksack on one of the chairs and sat down. She was waiting for Gaby who was her best friend’s step dad to pick her up.

After waiting for about 5 minutes, Paige got up and stretched. She did a little circle dance and started singing her favourite song “sexy no” by girls aloud. She was just coming to an end when Gaby’s step dad’s car pulled up in front of her. John, Gaby’s step dad came out of the car and smiled at Paige. He didn’t have the greatest of smiles either. He smoked a lot, his teeth were bright yellow and his breath stank. Paige smiled back at him. He opened the door of the car and Paige went to the chair to get her rucksack. She got into the car and smiled at Gaby who smiled back. John closed the door, got into the car and started the engine. He pulled up into the road and switched on the radio. He increased his speed to 100mp/h and the girls panicked.

“Slow down John.” Gaby said. John didn’t seem to heed, he increased his speed and made the girls scream. Paige looked out of the window and noticed that they were going the wrong way. “John, that’s the wrong way to school you have to turn right.” Paige said. John slowed down and then stopped. He went to the boot of the car and brought out a basket. Paige looked around where they were and realised with a panic that they were in an isolated place. There weren’t any road signs, sign of life or anything. There were just fields upon fields. John opened the door and roughly pulled Paige out. He gagged her with a piece of fabric and tied her hand. Gaby screamed and tried to run but she too was gagged and handcuffed.

John looked at the girl; his eyes thirsty for blood. The girls shivered as they stared at him. Paige made puppy dog eyes at him and so did Gaby but John looked away. He picked up the basket, put it into the car and got into it. He started the engine and the girls looked on horrified. He reversed and drove off throwing out Paige’s rucksack.

When John got home, he told Jasmine, Gaby’s mum that he had dropped off Paige and Gaby. At the end of school, when Jasmine went to pick Gaby, she was no where to be found. Paige and Gaby’s teacher told her that they hadn’t been in school. Jasmine called Melanie, and Gaby wasn’t in Melanie’s house. Jasmine panicked and rang the police; they immediately sent some police men to get John. When they got to Jasmine’s house, they found John packing. They immediately handcuffed him and brought him to the station.

On seeing John, Jasmine seized him by his jacket. “Where is my daughter?” she asked him crying.
