The next addition in the Boredom Hits Americans series.
As if on cue, a single Glacker came and tried to prevent him from reaching the Fusion Reactor. He was also wielding the deadly Fusion Cannon, a cannon that, when charged, will fire a deadly purple bolt of raw power, capable of firing directly through 3 solid feet of Steel.
The guy launched one bolt, and, almost instantly, the Fusion bolt ate through the wall. Zaphod had jumped out of the way, and also threw a knife professionally into the man’s chest. He and his weapon fell down the stairs, and Zaphod knew how he would destroy the Fusion Reactor.
He knew that 4 shots of a Fusion Cannon would be enough to destroy the Fusion Reactor, but he also knew the Fusion Reactor had a Red Plasma Defense Mechanism (RPDM). Red Plasma is more powerful than Green Plasma, the standard plasma in most Glack Plasma weapon.
Zaphod took a chance. He charged the Fusion Cannon and ran directly at the wall. The Fusion Reactor was just around the corner, and immediately, the Reactor started firing Red Plasma at Zaphod. How they got this technology to work in the first place, he didn’t know. But he aimed his feet at the wall and fired off the charge he had in his Cannon. When his feet hit the wall, he kicked off and shot back to the staircase, half the time sliding on the ground. At least he didn’t get hit by plasma. He wondered how mechanics can fix a malfunctioning Fusion Reactor if it just attacks them.
He went through that routine 3 more times, then it began an explosion cycle, involving an alarm counting down from 45. Zaphod didn’t have much time, but immediately on the alarm, he jetted right out the basement and through the front door. In an impressive display of skill, he extended his wings and shot straight into the sky. His men were still flying around, fighting the Glacks, but upon the Alarm, all of the Glackfernation evacuated the area. Zaphod ordered what was left of the Frackernation to get at least a mile away. Zaphod launched a Fusion bolt at the fleeing Glackfernation, then led his Frack in a different direction, away from the Keisnicken.
