The next addition in the Boredom Hits Americans series.

“They just kept coming, and coming,” Zaphod recalled. “We couldn’t stop them. Eventually we were forced to retreat. Only me and my 2nd in command survived. Yes, I was also a Glack leader,” said Zaphod. “I was one of the more powerful leaders, too. In fact, I’m the only person in the history of the Glackfernation to defect from the Glack and survive. I was free, to an extent. I was widely hunted by both Glacks and Fracks alike, for being a Glacker and a Glack defect. Eventually, I got facial surgery and a name change to get out of the Bodükognerschiten entirely. I was free.”

“But,” said Private. “But what was your birth name?”

“My birth name,” began Zaphod, “was Gregory Mellington. But when I needed a name change, I looked back to some great books I’ve read, and decided it’d be funny to use a famous name from the book The Hitchhikers’ Guide to the Galaxy. So I changed my name to Zaphod Beeblebrox.”

“So was that the only reason you got out of the Glack?” said Tim. “You didn’t want to lose again?”

“No, actually, after the retreat, I thought my reputation would be in the hole, but then I realized that everywhere except in the Glackfernation, my reputation was in the hole. I was gunging many people for no good reason, often innocent people. I realized that it was horribly wrong and that I needed to get out of there. So I did.”

“So, what do you think is up with the people roaming the streets with weapons?” asked Tom.

“I don’t know,” said Zaphod. “I have a feeling the Bodükognerschiten has finally become public after 7 years of secrecy since my defection. And now, I know what I must do, and you guys are going to help me.”

“What do you have to do…?” asked Kenny.

“We have to end the Bodükognerschiten once and for all.”

********************

One in the morning. Zaphod leads his men to the place he remembers his lost fight at. They analyze the area and determine that it is, in fact, a street. Zaphod jumps into the bushes, and the men follow suit. There’s an opening between two bushes leading to a trimmed path. There appears to be nobody around. Zaphod orders his men to continue down the path, quietly. Around the corner, and 2 gunshots were fired, one from either side of the trail. Everyone dropped to the ground immediately and aimed everywhere at once. Soon enough, they find their targets and take them out.
