Chapter 3: The Mission

March 30, 3356

After his talk with the recruiter, Cenetic went out the shipyard and walked into his new ship. After checking the engine and systems he opened the radio and immediately heard chatter.

“All units report to target location now!”

“Yes sir. Calling all new pilots with us on this mission. Please report current status and location, NOW!”

“This is Delta Bravo reporting in Bravo Papa currently fueled up a ready to go. Over.”

“Kilo Lima here in Bravo Lima Tree Niner Siks Wun ready to fight. Over.”

“Sierra Lima here currently in Foxtrot Papa Zeero Too currently ready to fly. Over.”

Soon Cenetic found that they were talking in the Military Alphabet.

“Hello this is Charlie Quebec currently residing in Oscar ready to move. Over.” said Cenetic.

“Roger your position Charlie Quebec, move out to Tango Lima with all possible speed!”

“Roger that sir. Over.” said Cenetic

Cenetic then quickly backed out of the shipyard and put full throttle through Andrexa, scorching the planet with his exhaust fumes. He realized that he would have to stick to the right side of the sector to get through Daccess and ovoid the Famous Pirate. Then he was out in Siberion with only a couple of sectors to go. Without even asking how the Dark Dome got there he was in Pass Fed 02 and almost to the target location. Once the first ice crystal came into sight he shot it with 20 rounds from his three 4 MW Particle Lasers and just barely survived the incident. He limped to the next Star Base to find one of his fellow pilots on the mission was there. Cenetic quickly paid the Star Base owner the money for the repair and set out again. Once he got into neutral space, Cenetic put Ayargre [10, 8] into the navigation software. Within minutes he was at Ayargre to find that it was deserted?

Cenetic then opened up the com channels to listen for enemy sightings:

“Mayday, Mayday, Mayday I’m going down! We have pirates in Ayargre! Oh shit *screeeeechCRASH!zzzzzttzzt*…”

“This is Fox 2 requesting an escort to lower Ayarge. Please reply, Over.”

“Fox 2. I am on the Ayargre wormhole. I can escort you to venture into lower Ayargre, Over.” said Cenetic.

“Alright, Cenetic, meet me on the Grefaho wormhole for further instructions, Over and Out.”

“Making my way to Grefaho wormhole, Over and Out.”

He then slowly made his way to the Grefaho wormhole. After traveling 3 tiles he saw what everyone had nightmares about. It was the dreaded body part traders! He tried to escape unnoticed, but one of the sentries spotted him and reported Cenetic to the chief security guard. They were after him! He opened throttle and was speeding by on his way to Grefaho. The security guards behind him opened fire and Cenetic saw plasma flashes, flash by his windshield. He could now see the wormhole is his sight and sped to it. He looked back in his rear view camera to see that the guards were only a few thousand feet behind him! More shots flashed pass him until one finally found its target. Cenetic felt the entire ship groan at the abuse. He rolled the ship 50* to avoid any other shots from that round. He decided that he should take the longest way around because it is harder to hit him in energy. Carefully Cenetic turned his ship so it would be in energy, the guard ships kept a good distance behind, but followed. Using a missile he carefully shot it around himself and made it explode into the nearby space maggot. Then he threw out some flares to make it look like he was shot down.
