Holy shit. I didn’t see that there before. It was huge. It was the size of my palm. It was black. It was brown. It was terrifying, so terrifying that I couldn’t even get a good look at it.
Holy shit. I didn’t see that there before. It was huge. It was the size of my palm. It was black. It was brown. It was terrifying, so terrifying that I couldn’t even get a good look at it. Did it have wings? It looked kind of fuzzy. How many legs did it have? I mean, I wasn’t wearing my glasses… but how could I have foreseen that I would have needed them to identify this menacing creature when I had simply intended to brush my teeth in the girl’s bathroom only two doors down from my own?
Geebus, how am I supposed to get back into my room? This thing was at mid-shin height, one hand away from my door (and by one hand, I mean the distance from the tip of my middle finger to my wrist). What if this thing can jump? That means I’m already too close! I can’t even open the door because it might crawl in, which isn’t the worst thing that could happen, but it could hide in some dark corner of the room where I wouldn’t be able to find it. I’d have to live in perpetual fear, but I’ll eventually get tired, so as soon as I have my guard down, it’ll get me. I cannot allow this creature get into my room. I held my breath then… slowly reached for the knob… openedthedoorjumpedinpulledthedoorshut. Phew! I made it, I made it. But it wasn’t over yet. I grabbed the closest towel and used it to stuff the crack between the door and the floor. Then I realized that there were openings on the sides, too. I stumbled over to my desk and grabbed the tape dispenser out of the first drawer. Then I tried to tape over the space between the door and the doorframe. I put out the lights and got into bed.
Sigh. This won’t do. I used freaking scotch tape. I got out of bed and turned the lights back on. I had to find some other way to maintain the security of my room. I finally came to the conclusion that I have to exterminate the creature. It was the only way.
