Yema and Jen’s sleepover continues.

After spending several hours on Mario Kart, Yema consistently beating Jen due to her far superior talent, they were signalled down for their meal by Eilidh running into the room and bouncing on Jen’s bed shouting. Yema jumped off the bed and switched the console off before following Eilidh downstairs with Jen in tow.

“Wow Sophie,” Yema complimented as she sat down at the table. She had known Jen’s mum for so long that they were on first name terms. “We certainly won’t be going hungry. You’ve done enough to feed a small army.”

Sophie laughed. “It’s not often we get people come round, so I like to give a good impression.”

“Well I think it’s absolutely brilliant,” Yema commented as they all began to eat.

“So, what’s the latest gossip going round then girls? That’s the one thing I miss about being a teenager.” Sophie looked genuinely excited to hear what the girls had to say. Yema and Jen just looked at each other and laughed, Jen spilling a couple of drops of gravy on her Panic At The Disco top in the process. “Come on then girls. Spill.”

“Yema’s got a boyfriend.” Jen barely get the words out past the giggles emanating from her throat. “He’s in the year above and asked her out earlier.” Jen glanced over an saw that her friend was going bright red.

“So Yema, what’s he like?”

“Totally gorgeous,” Yema began. “I thought he was way out of my league, but he said I was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen.”

“He sounds wonderful.” Sophie smiled across the table at Yema who seemed to have developed a sudden interest in the pork chop on her plate. “Do you have a picture of him?”

“No, but there are some on his Facebook if you want to look later on.” Yema regretted mentioning Facebook as soon as the words were out of her mouth. The very mention of any form of social networking site sent Sophie into a rant about the safety of the internet and how you always had to be careful who you spoke to in case they happened to be a fifty year old paedophile.

“So you’re on this Facebook then Yema?” Yema grudgingly nodded. “That whole bloody site is dangerous if you ask me. It’s full of people pretending to be who they’re not so that they can prey on young girls like you. My ethos has always been to keep Jen out of all that rubbish so she stays safe.”
