When dreamers meet, there is nothing that can be done. This is an old Dryad saying about how you cannot keep two apart if they have been dreaming of each other before they meet.

The chapter occuring before this is Chpt 27: Tears of Migus

Gaedon’s Bride

Written in Marja’s Book of Shadows

I am excited and I am hurt. My soul is crying. The pain tis greater than any before. I thought I knew, but now I fear what I have believed. I have tasted love. The old saying is true. When dreamers meet, there is nothing that can be done. Forgive me, my Prince of trees.
* * *

They had traveled a day and a half to get to the tavern. Migus had driven the wagon with the two red ladies walking behind and Challick walking before the horses. Gaedon and his siblings barely spoke a word and they all stayed in a bad mood on this trip. All except Merylis. She took an interest in Challick and could not keep her eyes off of him.

Gaedon’s heart hurt from the words he had heard Garthlac speak when they were brought before him. They had shamed the name of Kothar the day they had stood in defiance before everyone when their sister was dieing. Gaedon had felt so proud of his sister Kilorra for standing up to Migus when he had refused to pledge with them to go after Gaebrah’s killers. He and his siblings had cheered her on when she drew her practice sword and attacked Migus. Migus protected himself with only his arms and was doing quiet well against her wooden practice sword.

Gaedon knew what was about to happen. It was just a matter of when. Kilorra had a trick that only she knew and no matter how many times Gaedon watched her or practiced with his little sister, he fell pray to it. As did Migus before all that stood watching. It was a loud crack that was heard when her wooden sword met the side of his head. Without a thought in his head about his sister Gaebrah, he jumped with exuberance when Migus fell at Kilorra’s feet.

Humility strikes straight to the heart when you believe you have no need of it. Kilorra gloated and ignored the shamed look that the dragons gave her as she walked over to put her foot on Migus’s back. Gaedon completely expected the dragons to honor the pledge she asked for until things just turned upside down. Kilorra was wearing the same type of training vest and shirt that he did, but instead of pants she wore a skirt that hung down to her knees and a pair of dark leather boots. Just as she was putting her boot upon Migus, he grabbed her ankle and then quickly stood up holding her upside down.

    I haven\’t managed to read all the pages here due to shortage of time but I am very impressed with how the story is going, Milton. It is so imaginative and well written.
