Beyond. After being rudely thrown out of town, the group leaves the area. But what are they going to do now? Where do they go? For now, they resign themselves to walking away.

Miiril placed a hand on Keth’s forearm preventing the brash girl from running after the horse and instead guiding her toward Randall.  Argent stood listening to the silence, staring down the road into a city for which he had no real love lost.  Pinch glared after Laosin considering many things, but content to wait for the moment.  Randall, sobbing into the road, couldn’t hear himself much less the consoling words of Miiril as she knelt by him.

The sound of the silence was actually beginning to hurt a little when the noises of the world finally returned.  Argent and Pinch had stepped off the road a little away from the girls tending to Randall.  “What now?” Argent asked softly, both of them standing close, watching their surroundings while not seeming to do so. “Loosing the city isn’t much of a big deal for me, considering my background.  But Rand is taking it hard and I think the girls could use some rest.”

Pinch nodded, “Get them up and we’ll move outside the city’s area a bit before bedding down.  I get the feeling he just wanted to get us out of the city proper, so we should be safe out here.  Something tells me no one will follow us.”  Then as he moved back to the culvert to pick up his backpack, he mumbled quietly, “there’s just something not right about all of this.”

Argent nodded, walking over to the girls and put a hand on Miiril’s shoulder.  She looked up at him with strained, worried eyes.  They held the look for a moment and she let out a soft sigh and turned back to Randall, “Rand, dear.  Come now,” gently pulling him to his feet, “come and walk this way with us.”  Keth nodded and jogged over to the culvert, pulled out all the gear belonging to herself, Miiril and Randall and slung it all over her shoulders and back.  She didn’t even look like she was struggling as she moved along the road behind the rest of the group as they set up the road.

They walked in a quiet broken only by their footfalls on the rough stones of the road, the soft prayers spoken by Miiril and the sharp sniffs of Randall.  The land rolled out on either side of the road covered in harvested fields and farm houses.  Lush trees were starting to show colors of autumn and the smell of fresh tilled land filled the morning air as they walked.
