Unable to find work Denise Shore goes back to see Fritz. He offers another contract but it is not better.

Donald smiled. “You have three months to make up your mind. We need to have you ready to start making movies in less than six months. That gives three for the surgery and rehab if you sign on day ninety. Let me give you something as a gesture of good will. Here is a paper that temporarily sets your monthly wage at enough to swing the house. I am basing it on you signing the contract. In addition I will have seven thousand dollars a month added to your pay for six months. You will owe me that back if you do not decide to take the larger contract. I will expect that you would sell the house and I would get my money out of the sale, with interest.”

“I appreciate that and I will accept it. Let me think about the other offer. It is a good one but I am not sure I want to pay that big a price.”

“I understand it is a big decision. We have some work for you now which you will be paid for if you accept. Be here the day after tomorrow at eight. You will need tomorrow to get the house swap ready.”

She slept little during the night.

She called the Realtor the next morning and the processing of her loan started. Fritz had already FAXed the paperwork. She called back about an hour later. The actor wanted to meet to work out the house swap. Could they go through her house again with her?

About an hour later the actor and his wife showed up at the front door with their Realtor. Her Realtor was pulling up out front and a sales rep for a moving company and an appraiser pulled up behind her. By the time they were finished in the two homes every piece of furniture was tagged with a blue or red tag. Blue meant that the furniture stayed in the house, red meant it moved. The moving rep and the appraiser made lists. The actor and his wife took pictures. When they were done the two men sat with their computers and did some figuring. The appraiser turned to the actor. “This isn’t the final figure but it looks like you would owe her just a tad over $50,000.”

“It would cost more to have a decorator just look at doing the job. And my wife likes most of the rooms as they are. All we are bringing is the family stuff. If Denise is satisfied, I am.”
