Denise Shore leaves the hospital with a large cast.

When they got to the room Denise was massively hung over and very nasty. Carol listened to her complaints. “They got me awake at six. My leg is in a sling and they’ll not take it down until the doctor arrives. My butt is exposed to the whole world and half of them have been through my room this morning. I’m not allowed out of bed and they made me use a bedpan. My leg hurts and they will not give me anything for pain. The cast is big and heavy. They wouldn’t listen to me when I asked they to replace the cast with a smaller one.”

The doctor walked in just as she was finishing the tirade. “Well how is our patient today?”

“You stupid bastard. How do you think I feel? My fucking leg hurts like hell. It’s this damn big plaster thing. Take of off now. You have me trussed up here with my butt hanging out to the wind. Everyone is running through this room. I didn’t get any sleep.” She tried to pull her leg out of the sling without success. “Get me out of this damn thing. Now!” Carol smiled. She was not only hung over. She was still probably legally drunk. The bottle was less than half full when they found her.  It would take nearly fifteen hours to burn off that much alcohol.

“Denise, you broke your leg. Keeping it elevated helps keep it from swelling. If it swells it isn’t good. It will hurt more and it can cause other problems. The people are just following my orders. You needed monitoring and it sounds like they did it. Take it easy. If that leg comes out of the sling and falls on the bed you will know what pain is.”

“Damit. I didn’t do anything but get my leg caught between two logs. You are trying to make me think I broke it. It didn’t hurt bad enough to be broken. This is some head game you are playing to show me not to drink. Well it isn’t fucking working. Now dip shit.” She motioned to the nurse. “You with the fat ass and sagging tits, get me out of here. You ought to get a bra that supports them things.”

The doctor intervened. “We will get you out of there in a couple minutes. I need to check your leg. Your friends are here to spring you.”
