Many truths are to be revealed.
Leon then turns his attention to Briana.
“I’m sorry for getting you involved in this Briana,” he said softly. “In truth, the Leon you knew is dead. However, mine and his thoughts and actions are the same, so all our time together and feelings for each other are real. Whether you choose to remain my friend is another story.”
After receiving no reaction from Briana, he turns to the crimson beast. Leon raises his thumb to his mouth and bites it. The blood pours out and floats into the air. Like wielding a weapon, Leon swings his arm toward the beast. The blood reacts, transforming into thousands of tiny needles and fly toward the blood demon. Instead of attacking the beast, the needles crush the iron bars and stone wall to dust, letting in more light. The blood beast falls in pain, roaring loudly as his skin sizzles. Leon stands over the beast, looking down pitying it.
“You wanted out badly my feral side,” Leon began, “So I simply granted your wish. You, who have lived centuries in the dark abyss of my mind, could not possibly take the light. You, like many of my children, are trapped in darkness for eternity, never to enjoy the warmth of light. This is the curse, which I have been ordered to spread to this world. Hush your screams now, my child. It is time you found peace.”
With that said, Leon clenched his fist. The crimson beast’s body was pierced by large spikes that exploded out of its heart. With its last ounce of strength, the beast smiled up at Leon, like a child receiving the love its parent. Then its body dissolves and turned to dust.
As Briana gazed at Leon in both amazement and horror, she heard the sound of bones breaking. The bony cage had been cut through by the Chairman, and he was making his charge against Leon. Without a trace of resistance, Leon was pressed against the wall with the Chairman’s blade deep inside his chest, piercing his heart. Leon smiled as blood soaked his shirt.
“I knew it all along,” said the Chairman, pressing his sword harder against Leon. “You are the one this organization has been after for three hundred years. You’re the father of all you wretched blood suckers, the Vampire King.”
“Is that what you think I am?” Leon asked chuckling as he grabbed Leon’s blade. “I may be the source of all vampires, but I am no king. I am simply a child of a greater evil.”
Leon gripped the blade tightly and thrust it out of his body. Blood splattered at his feet. The Chairman picked up the blade and readied for another charge. Leon laughed loudly.
“I must ask, do you recognize my left eye?” Leon asked, with a twisted smile. “It belonged to the previous leader of your organization, your father. I took this eye as a reward when I killed him.”
Gritting his teeth, the Chairman roared with rage and lunged at Leon. Leon effortlessly evaded and struck the Chairman in the back, in one fluid motion. The Chairman was knocked out cold on the ground.
“Chairman!” Briana shouted, running to him.
While Briana tended to the Chairman, Leon took the opportunity to escape. With ease he blasted a whole through the back of the dungeon with a single punch. The moonlight shined down upon him as he turned back, his crimson eye blazed brightly contrasting the darkness.
“Rolando,” he said, “I want you to go on ahead. I’ll meet you in that spot.”
Rolando nodded and made his way through the opening. Leon turned his attention to Briana who looked up at him with sad eyes.
“Briana,” Leon began, “You must put aside these feelings that you harbor for me, and come at me with your everything. We are enemies now, you know that. You a vampire hunter, and I, the vampire hunter’s greatest foe. I want you to relay a message to your group. Tell them “The Devil Vampire walks again”. Farewell.”
Leon fled out of sight under the moonlit sky.
