The first installment of many to encompass the story of the AKOS Consultancy and it’s employees. What will Brady Allen do when his employees start going missing and his company name starts getting tarnished? What lengths will a man of magical means go to in order to insure the safety of those he cares about?
“She says she just finishing up an expense report but can be in your office by 1.”
“Done. Send someone over to Five Guys to pick up the usual will you?” He bends down and kisses the gorgeous vampire on her neck in a poor imitation of a vampire bite. She moans and growls. “You are the best by far, Sonya Parker.”
“Oh you have no idea how good I am Brady. You can be the bark, I’ll be the bite.” She flashes some more fang as she says the last word.
“I know, why else do you think I stay away? I’m not sure I can take it.”
She raises an eyebrow “I very much doubt that, I’ve heard about you and your… shall we say tendencies. Malcolm talks about you like you have the stamina of a vampire.”
“From your mouth to God’s ears.” He flashes that winning smile he’s so very well known for, and starts to walk back down the hallway. Just before exiting as she turns her music back up, he remembers one last item he wanted her to look into. “Also, do me a favor, find out everything you can on Andrea Jacobs.”
“The reporter?”
“That’s her, she’s been practically bashing my door down asking for an exclusive report on the offices. I’m trying to decide if I should grant it.”
“You’re the boss.”
Back up the stairs, Brady walks right past an old Bomb Shelter sign complete with radiation symbol. The trip back to his office takes only a few moments and everyone was busy enough to miss him coming back up. With some time to spare before his accounting manager shows up, he takes a minute to get his own business in order. Checking email, returning calls, and making notes to many of the case files littering the top of his desk. By the time that Patti O’Connor knocks on his door, the desk is clear and the outbox is nearly overflowing with manila folders.
