This is the prologue of the book that I’m writing.

The sunrays were dying in the horizon, night will come soon. Cain doesn’t want to listen to mom when she told him not to play in the woods, but there he was, running as fast as his small legs could let him, the fear was bringing his heart out of his chest, looking backwards, the only thing that he could see was his chaser, a really tall monster, a dinosaur-like look with two bat wings, and its head had no skin, it was just the skull with flesh attached to it, Cain can´t focus to use magic , but as mom had said once, he was too little to be powerful. Finally, the street lights appeared at the end of the hill, the sky was already dyed in dark blue, while the moon and stars appeared slowly, a great relief for little Cain, he was running faster, but his chaser was even faster, but there was a huge tree trunk blocking his path ahead, too big to jump It over. Cain felt that it was his end, while he ran more and more nearer to the tree trunk, he began to cry, I don´t want to die! He shouted so hard that his shout was heard over the strong roars of the monster. Cain finally reached the tree trunk and stopped, he turned backwards really slowly, he attempted to cast a ray, but no, it doesn´t work. In a moment he will be dead; he closed his eyes and started praying. Suddenly, from the branches, a silhouette jumped taking him with strength, throwing him towards the other side of the trunk; but those arms that took him were subtle arms, as if they were feminine arms, Cain shut his eyes really hard, while he fell on the grass, he wasn´t hurt, then he heard a strong roar, but a roar of pain, followed by an earth shake. Cain opened his eyes and climbed up the trunk and watched his rescuer holding a sword just used to kill the creature.

            – “Are you ok?” Said the lady without looking at him

            -”Yeah, I think!” Said Cain.

-”So go home…” Added the lady.

The mysterious woman went away immediately, disappearing between the branches in the same as she had arrived.

Cain felt strange, but he took the lady´s advice and went straight home.  He left the woods and he will not play alone ever again.

Cain walked slowly and calmly to his house, when he was walking down the slope, he found the city in normal conditions as always and that made him feel safe.

A few days ago he was afraid of monsters getting into the city.  While he walked, strangely, the sky was turning darker, even though it was night, he stared at the sky, and there it was, flying over the city, the academy of Darhan; it was like an eclipse that blocked the moon’s glow, a wonder of engineering, hundreds of tons flying; he was looking amazed by this thing flying over the city; then three robots with wings and rockets like in the films, left the academy, the robots flew towards the forest; Cain remained astonished by the spectacular thing the academy was. He wanted to study in one but his mom didn’t allow him to do so.

            – “This world is already screwed up, and you want to fight wars? Come on Cain, you don´t have to be a soldier! There are too many already!”

That’s what mom always says, but he doesn’t care, he still wanted to be a great soldier; to work in secret operations, to defend weak towns, to fight against monsters, and to make this a better world. But no, mother wanted him to be a lawyer, a doctor or a businessman, adults’ life is very boring, he always said to himself…
