The sixth chapter of Gangsta’s Paradise.
Sitting in his small living room with Zak watching a movie on the screen above him, Calvin checked his newly acquired gun. Pulling out all the pieces he clicked them all together and screwed them on. In five minutes he had the gun completely set up. It could easily be packed into a small box and concealed. Unlike his M4, the gun could be disassembled. His gun was really one solid piece. Loading the high capacity clip and the grenade launcher shells he walked outside. Zak jumped up and followed him. They walked out into his yard then went down past his house farther down the valley. There in a glade he had a cardboard target set up. It was a wooden box with cardboard covering the front. That way he caught his BBs. Walking over to the cardboard he pulled out a piece of paper and taped it up. Getting ten paces away he turned around and clicked a magazine in. Putting the gun on semi-auto he aimed for the targets center. The BBs were dead on. Backing up another ten paces he took aim and fired. The gun was good for about forty paces and the BBs started to drop off. It was relatively accurate.
Looking at Zak he said, “You want to shoot it.”
“Hell yeah.” Zak said and took the M16. Putting it on full-auto he reloaded the magazine and let off a burst on the target. The BBs ripped through the cardboard with a hollow thud. He handed it back to Calvin.
Calvin opened up the grenade launcher and put a shell in. Lifting up the Grenade launcher sight he had put on he took aim and pulled the grenade launcher’s trigger. The noise echoed through the valley and a cloud of BBs ripped the cardboard up. Looking at Zak he raised his eyebrows and said, “Wow.”
Zak nodded and they started going back to the house. “Remember. Don’t forget me when you look at the 200 dollar coupon.”
“Shit. I got you through science.” Calvin said.
“Yeah ok.”
Hiking to the top of York Calvin cleared out the barricades the richies had put in as he climbed. Getting to the top he pulled a gun case off his back and sat it down. Opening it, he pulled out his new airsoft rifle a replica left-handed .50 Caliber Beret sniper rifle. Taking off the rubber pad on the end of the butt he pulled a plug out and put a small CO2 cartridge in it then replaced the plug and tightened it with a Allen wrench.
Pulling one of the clips out he put into place. Flicking the bipod down he laid down and just aimed at a tree on the other side of the valley. Flipping the safety off he pulled on the bolt and cocked it. Aiming for a branch he fired. There was a little kickback in the gun. The noise was so loud Calvin blinked. When he looked for the branch he saw it was broken off.
“Oh wow.”
