Nightfall Russia. It is cold very cold the snow falls steadily on an abandoned construction site in Moscow.

Laying in hiding behind the clouds in the sky are one hundred Empire sphere ships waiting. Granite knows the Storm gate is hidden on the top floor of the abandoned building site. He does not go for it; he waits for his prey the four human youngsters heading for the same spot. Why rush; just wait till they all arrive and then strike; he would get four gates for the price of one.

The monitors pick up and object coming in fast from the west at supersonic speed; this person was not trying to hide their entrance. Granite could see a streak of flame heading for the top floor; the double gate and its wearer and the girl he was carrying. “Sir we have them on radar.” A Maxian voice called through on speaker.

“I can see him.” Granite loaded his bubble launcher gun. “Shields up to maximum; we would not want the telepath to pick us up.”

“We do not pick up the Power gate anywhere sir.”

“Still just to be safe.”

Z and Summer had left Marcus and Lisa at the hospital in Vegas. Lisa complained so terribly about her gunshot wound the party decided to separate. Summer was not going to allow the opportunity for power slip through her fingers onto a loser like Marcus; she used all her feminine charm to convince Z that Marcus should stay with his girlfriend while he won her heart through whatever they found.

Z’s body was on fire as he blasted toward the top floor of the building; he was coming in hot literally. Summer was not affected; even though she was in his arms he managed to create a pocket of protection for her. He however could not stop the ice cold wind blasting her skin and eyes.

“Maybe we can slow down now.” Summer begged. Z complied and hovered in standing position taking a quick scan and then flying through the scaffolding; with a spin and a loop he touched down allowing Summer to stumble forward. Z lowered the flame until it vanished; he was amazed that his clothes never got burnt. Summer rubbed her eyes. “Where is it?”

Z checked the wrist band. “It seems to be behind that plastered wall.”

“How would something like that end up there?” She asked; Z just shrugged his shoulders. The two moved toward the wall but suddenly there was an emerald flash of light; standing between them and their goal were two young persons; a black chubby girl, with long braids wearing yellow; and a blond, tall, skinny, white young man, wearing glasses.

“…it was one thing to be indestructible and another to be stared down by a cheerleader with a perfect body.” Killer quip!
