Chapter one of novel (444 pages in paperback).
“If you recall our agreements with our government partners, they state that we can exercise nondisclosure for certain ingredients in the production of the Fountain of Youth. It’s a proprietary item that will remain confidential and the sole property of AFC. We’ve listed all other ingredient items in the report,” Anthony explained, knowing that he was on solid ground in the matter.
“You know this has been a sore point with the partners, and things would go much smoother if you told them which ingredients were missing from the recipe list,” retorted Sted, as he leaned forward onto the table.
“As in our previous conversations about this, I’ll repeat that the Fountain of Youth has passed all regulatory requirements for safety, and is deemed acceptable for sale on a commercial basis.” His answer did not tell them what they wanted to hear and he was coming across like he was being evasive.
Mark replied in a slightly annoyed manner. “AFC is asking a king’s ransom for the Fountain of Youth. You expect your partners to pay out so much and not know what’s in it?” he said, as he looked through the information as intently as Alice.
Anthony calmly replied. “This is a moot point. We’ve made it clear and our partners have accepted this condition in the agreement. Can we please get on with this?” The room was silent for the frustration of the consortium members. “Thank you,” he said as he continued. “Next is the matter of production methods. If you take a look at the report in section B, you’ll see our explanation of the production methods utilizing the breakthrough concepts in physics and energy.”
Gordon interrupted to say, “you’re telling me this information is different than the last report you gave us?” in a suspicious and doubting tone.
“This information has been put together by our international office and is the latest information on the project. If you go through it you’ll see that it answers all your questions.”
“I see you have outlined the catalyst reaction necessary to incubate the unknown ingredients,” Gordon said as he glanced through section B.
“Yes that’s right. Our research group has conferred with people at MIT and Cambridge to confirm our experiments. I believe you know Foster Bensha, he’s at MIT and was involved in corroborating aspects of the scientifics of the production methodology.”
