Chapter Eight: Baptism of the Four Soldiers
Siren tried to recover from the power of the kiss. Pharoahnine took more souls from him given that he was the oldest. However, Pharoahnine was unaware that he was taking more than Siren could handle. Being his usual prideful self, Siren stood up and tried to recover quickly from his dizziness.
“Siren…” Pharoahnine sneered.
“Yes Master…” Siren managed to reply.
“Remember…Do not be seen!”

“Wake up!”
“Uhmm…” Elijah grunted.
“Wake up, Elijah!” Mrs. Williams gently shook her. “C’mon honey, you have to try on your baptismal gown,”
“Baptismal gown? What time is it?” Elijah said drowsily. She looked around at the room softly lit by Mrs. Williams’s candle. Apparently, she was the first to be woken up.
“Oh it’s a couple of hours before dawn,” Mrs. Williams replied lighting a torch to bathe the room in light. She had a white bundle in her arms. “Oh wake up you two! It’s time!” she yelled at the two mentors who were supposed to be up before the soldiers.
Morgan sat up slowly and stretched. He got up and headed to the armoire to get dressed. Monsignor Rosen nearly fell out of the hammock when Mrs. Williams was waking Mayu. He wasn’t used to sleeping in it, so it was a challenge trying to stay in. Forcing his sleeplessness aside, he got dressed quickly and slinked out the door unseen.
Mayu was still having trouble getting out of bed, Alan pulled the blanket over his head, Jonathan folded the pillow over his ears and Elijah was fighting to stand up to try on her gown. Mrs. Williams sighed and turned to Morgan who was getting into pastoral robes. “Morgan will you please?” she asked out of frustration of trying to get the other three up without success.
“No problem,” Morgan replied with a smirk. He went over and yanked Alan’s blanket off him and proceeded to go around to literally pick him up off the bed.
“What the…” Alan said drowsily when he found himself standing up.
