Chapter VI- Survival

The ship began to rock and jolt it continued to advance into the storm clouds. Everyone on the ship was bracing themselves by finding strong footholds. Morgan led the solders to the middle of the ship where the two masts stood. He began to speak very frantically to them as he began trying to find rope.

“Okay, this is it! I need you four to listen very clearly to my instructions,” he yelled as the wind began to pick up. Morgan began tying Alan to Elijah and Mayu to Jonathan. Then tied Alan and Elijah to the first mast and Mayu and Jonathan to the second. Expressions of extreme confusion were exchanged while he was doing this.

“Okay, this is really uncomfortable!” Mayu voiced.

“Just let me explain why I did this…” Morgan said trying to talk fast. “Fire and Earth aren’t really needed to ride through the storm. However, Elijah and Jonathan, you are needed to support Alan and Mayu by giving them strong footholds and keep them from falling and loosing concentration,” he said tying himself to the side rail beside them. After he was secure he tossed both Mayu and Alan a pair of pure white, leather gloves.

“These gloves are to help better direct your power at a certain entity, and you will need them to master your own strength in attack moves or fighting stances…” Morgan sounded as if he was loosing his breath. The water grew choppier as he spoke causing him to jolt and finish sentences awkwardly.

“I hope Pawn will be ok,” Jonathan thought to himself. One of the handmaids had taken him into the lower decks with her to hide.

The wind picked up, and the ship began crashing into bigger waves. The sun above them was beginning to disappear as thunder began to roar and lightning started to clap. It seemed the closer they got to the storm the faster the ship advanced into it.

“Right, the instructions for getting through this is very simple,” Morgan began to yell over the bickering of the storm. “The wind comes at us from all directions in this storm so Alan, the only thing you need to do is manipulate the wind to push the ship forward,” he called above the storm. “Mayu, Alan’s vast gusts of wind is sure to create huge waves; your job is to make sure those waves don’t hit the ship by splitting them in half or maneuvering them to the side. Do you understand?”
