The new soldiers of this circle tour their new home, where not only discoveries of their faith will be made, but of themselves as well…
Morgan just smiled again, exceedingly patient with Jonathan’s attitude toward their religion. “You see Jonathan, the soldiers gave their devotion simply because they were created and given life by God. Though you may not feel like all this extra devotion is important now, I promise you…there will be an event in your life where all this will be needed the most…and you will never, EVER regret or feel embarrassed doing so…”
Jonathan just sighed again as he strutted up to Morgan, “Hope you don’t mind me saying so, but my faith has suffered to the point of being atheist since my mother had died. I’m really mad at him whom you love so much, for taking her and leaving me with a malignant bastard of a stepfather!” he harshly whispered. Morgan chuckled this time, angering Jonathan who gave him a hard stare. For some reason, it was actually predictable to the other three that Jonathan would act like this.
“Did you hear yourself speak? You’re mad at someone whom atheists don’t even believe exist. You’re not atheist; you just fail to understand…”
Jonathan looked away; something seemed to well up in his eyes. Morgan put his hands on Jonathan’s shoulders as he continued. “You obviously believe there is someone there. And you’re mad at him like a child mad at his father who had to discipline him. At first the child is blind with anger, but when the child matures; he begins to understand why his father had to discipline him,”
“So you’re saying God disciplined me?” Jonathan his voice started to quiver slightly.
“No! I’m saying the anger you feel toward him is blind. You’re mad and you don’t really know why. But this does not make you an atheist; it just puts you at a misunderstanding between God and yourself. And like the child’s anger toward his father diminished as he grew in knowledge, your anger too will fade…”
“I don’t know, Morgan…I don’t understand…” Jonathan said turning away with his arms crossed.
“It’s ok to be confused; God’s love is very complex and sometimes hard to understand. But you will understand; I will make sure of that. In the meantime,” Morgan said coming up to pass him to the spiral staircase. “You should start looking at the glass as half full and count your blessings, instead of half empty and recalling upon what you lost. Think of it this way, I did manage to find you and bring you here because of your power. You get a nice home cooked meal and get to sleep in a nice comfy bed; instead of staying in the wilderness not knowing when you’ll have your next meal and sleeping in the midst of humidity soon to become a freezing winter,”
Jonathan’s hard expression faded and his eyes were looking at the ground. “If I were you Jonathan,” Morgan continued. “I’d be thanking him for the life that has now been handed me. I’d be paying so much homage that my knees would hurt…” Morgan said starting to go up the staircase. “Come along, now. We have more of your home to see…”
