Going Too FAR

MARY GLASPOLE

INT. NIGHT. Mary sitting at the kitchen table applying her make up. She is dressed in a short navy mini skirt and low cut blouse. Her Father is reading the newspaper and her Mother is cooking over a stove.

MOTHER

That lipstick is too bright.

FATHER
You look like a cheap tart. Why do you need to dress like that around the house?

MARY
I’m going clubbing with Emma and Sarah!

MOTHER

You are not. You are not old enough!

MARY

So! Emma’s parents said its alright for me to come.

FATHER

They might have agreed to it but we haven’t.

MARY

Lots of girls my age at school go to Park End. Their parents allow them.

FATHER

I very much doubt that is true and if it is then that is highly irresponsible.

Mother serves the dinner and puts a plate in front of Mary.

MOTHER

Put your make up away love, it’s dinner time.

Mary sighs and pushes her cosmetics reluctantly   to one side.

MOTHER

That’s better, now what homework have you got to do tonight?

Mary

They didn’t give us any.

FATHER

(Looking over his newspaper)

Well I don’t know what we pay all this money for. We might as well have you sent to a state school.

MARY

PUSHING FOOD ABOUT ON HER PLATE. There was a bit of maths.

FATHER

Good. Well after dinner you can make a start on that and wipe all that muck off your face.

MARY

It’s Maybelline

FATHER

I don’t care what it it. It’s a waste of money and doesn’t do anything for you.

MARY

SLAMMING DOWN HER KNIFE AND FORK.I’m sick of this!

Mary makes to leave while her Mother screams after her to come back and finish her dinner.

MARY

I don’t want it!

Mary Exits.

FATHER

Let her go love.

***

INT Mary’s room with pink lava lamp. She is sitting at her dressing table applying more make up and perfume. She tries on different outfits from the wardrobe with heels. She can’t decide which pair to wear and leaves them all off. Her phone rings.

it got duplicated. Do you know how hard it is to plagiarise yourself on Triond. I have been trying to get work through which is different but contains the same title or phrase. Impossible,Then something entirely identical is published twice. I love Triond
